RCT3 History
The first news of the new 'Coaster Tycoon game, was released late February. Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 was the next game in line for the popular Rollercoaster Tycoon series, which had a popular first game (RCT1) developed by Chris Sawyer. The 2nd game in the series (RCT2) was not as good as expected, but added several new rides, features, scenery and game play options. Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 was developed by 'Frontier', and published by 'Atari'. Frontier is a UK based, games designing company with several games out, such as Dogs Life, Wallace and Gromit and several classics including Elite (Probably the best game ever - The Times). A Press Release was sent out by Atari on the 3rd of March 2004 announcing a thrilling new sequel to the Rollercoaster Tycoon franchise. Information was released at several games sites, along with the first set of images for the game. New articles started to come out with the features of the new game.
People were excited with the line up, with the game including a sandbox option,
firework displays, 3D graphics, RideCam, day/night cycles, reflective water and
a whole lot of new rides and rollercoasters. Several Press Releases were sent out by Atari with information about all of the features included in the game. New feature which were released in PR's include the ability to make your own people and make AI groups. |
